The Patancheruvu (Nagalapalli) – Adilabad new railway line is an important project that has been sanctioned by the Railway Ministry. The line will be approximately 317 kms long and is estimated to cost around Rs 5,706 crore.
The new railway line will connect several new and unconnected places in Northern Telangana. It will provide rail connectivity to major towns like Ichoda, Neradigonda, Dhanur, Nirmal, Balkonda, Armoor, Bodhan, Rudrur, Nasrullabad, Banswada, Nizamsagar, Alahadurg, Sangareddy, and Patancheruvu. It will also connect these places with Hyderabad and New Delhi through the existing main line.
According to a senior officer from South Central Railway, the new railway line will be beneficial for the socio-economic development of the region. It will facilitate passenger movement for activities like agriculture, business, education, tourism, and healthcare.
The line will also pass through agriculturally developed areas and help in the marketing of agricultural produce such as rice, maize, cotton, turmeric, and sugar. This will benefit farmers from Medak, Siddipet, Nizamabad, Nirmal, and other areas.
