The TSDCA conducted raids at clinics run by unlicensed medical practitioners in Pashamylaram, Patancheru, and Gudipadu villages in Singareni mandal, Khammam district. In Pashamylaram, the DCA teams raided a clinic operated by G Nageshwar Rao and Md Ismail, who were practicing medicine without proper qualifications. They claimed to be Rural Medical Practitioners (RMPs), but were found to be unlicensed. The officials seized over 150 types of medicines worth Rs 2.30 lakh.

During the raids, the DCA officials also found higher-generation ‘antibiotic injections’ being sold at the clinics. Selling antibiotics without proper qualifications can have serious consequences on public health, such as the development of Antimicrobial Resistance. To report any illegal activities related to medicines, the public can contact the Drugs Control Administration in Telangana at the toll-free number 1800-599-6969, which is available from 10:30 am to 5 pm.
