Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress party, addressed a large public meeting in Kollapur and reassured the people of Telangana that if his party comes to power, they will create a government that represents the people’s interests. He stated that the upcoming Assembly elections are a battle between the current government, which he referred to as “Dorala Telangana,” and the real people of the state, who are unemployed youth and women.
Rahul Gandhi highlighted two main issues that symbolize the shortcomings of the current government. The first is the Kaleshwaram project, which he believes is a deception and a waste of money. He mentioned that over one lakh crore rupees, which should have benefited farmers and laborers, was misused for this project. In contrast, the Congress government in the past has successfully implemented infrastructure projects that have stood the test of time.
The second issue Rahul Gandhi pointed out is the mishandling of the revenue department and land records by the current government. He claimed that land that was previously allocated to the poor by the Congress government was taken away by the current government. The Dharani portal, which was intended to digitize land records, has caused injustice to around 20 lakh farmers while benefiting KCR’s family, MLAs, and ministers.
In conclusion, Rahul Gandhi promised that if his party comes to power, they will create a “Prajala Sarkar” or a government that truly represents the people’s interests. He urged the people of Telangana to vote for change in the upcoming Assembly elections.
