Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi made a surprise visit to farmers in Sonipat, Haryana. While on his way to Shimla, he decided to meet the farmers and joined them in planting paddy in the fields. He interacted with the farmers and asked about the issues they are facing and their earnings. However, he had to cancel his trip to Shimla due to bad weather and returned to Delhi.

During his visit, Rahul Gandhi also visited the Madina village in Gohana area of Sonipat and assured the farmers of his support. He planted paddy, talked to the farmers and laborers, discussed agriculture, and even drove a tractor. Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala praised Rahul Gandhi’s simplicity and public relations skills, calling it his biggest asset.
