    Rachakonda Commissionerate in Hyderabad has achieved a high conviction rate of 61% for major crimes for five consecutive years, making it the top-performing district in Telangana. However, the overall crime rate has increased by 7% in 2023 compared to the previous year, with cybercrime seeing a significant rise of 25%.

    During the annual round-up at the Rachakonda Commissionerate, Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu revealed that there were 30,148 reported cases in 2023, compared to 27,864 cases in the previous year. Out of these cases, 75% have been disposed of, while 5,978 cases from previous years are still under investigation.

    The conviction rate has seen an improvement, rising from 59% in 2022 to 61% in 2023. Rachakonda Commissionerate has consistently held the top position in Telangana for convictions of major crimes. Additionally, it has detained 50 potential offenders under the PD Act, making it the leading district in the state.

    To combat crime, the police are actively targeting drug cartels and suppliers of counterfeit seeds, working towards controlling their illegal activities.
