In Mulugu, District Medical and Health Officer Dr. Allam Appayya stated that all children under five years old should receive polio drops. He kicked off the Pulse Polio program at the district hospital by giving two drops to each child. District welfare officer Swarnalata Velina, district child welfare officer Omkar, and district immunisation office Dr. Vipin Kumar were also present.

Dr. Appayya mentioned that mobile teams were providing polio drops to children of workers in various industries and areas like brickclins, cotton mills, Godavari coastal regions, and tourist spots. Booths have been set up near bus stands to reach children traveling in RTC buses and transit passengers.

The program will run for two more days, on Monday and Tuesday. Additionally, department staff will visit households to administer two polio drops to children. The DMHO urged people’s representatives, NGOs, and youth clubs in villages to join in and ensure all targeted children receive the drops for a successful program reaching 100% coverage.
