Velichala Rajender Rao, the son of late Velichala Jagapathi Rao, a well-known senior politician in Karimnagar district, is actively campaigning for the Congress parliamentary candidature in Karimnagar. After his father’s passing last year, Rajender Rao, who had previously distanced himself from politics, is now eager to continue his father’s legacy by running in the Lok Sabha elections.
In an exclusive interview with The Hans India, Rajender Rao discussed his vision for Karimnagar and his plans for public service. He emphasized his strong connection to the region and his commitment to addressing public issues through an app called ‘Kohinoor Karimnagar Sahayak’. Additionally, he pledged financial support for various community initiatives, regardless of political affiliations.
When asked about his competition in the upcoming elections, Rajender Rao highlighted the main contest between Congress and BJP in Karimnagar. He expressed confidence in Congress’s momentum and predicted a victory for the party based on survey results. He also criticized other candidates, such as Vinod Kumar and Bandi Sanjay, for their alleged lack of accomplishments in the constituency.
Rajender Rao shared his reasons for rejoining politics, citing his passion for public service inherited from his father. He recounted past experiences with the TRS party and expressed his desire to showcase the development work done by Congress and his family’s history of selfless service to gain support from voters.
