The Telangana government is making progress on the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation project. The project’s wet run of heavy motors will be launched by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on September 16. Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy believes this project will solve the drinking and irrigation problems in the Palamuru region permanently. It is regarded as the world’s largest lift irrigation scheme and will be a great benefit to the people of Palamuru.

Singireddy Niranjan Reddy inspected the preparatory works at Narlapur Reservoir in Kollapur constituency. He criticized Congress and BJP leaders from Mahbubnagar for trying to stop the project. These leaders filed false cases in NGT and the High Court out of jealousy for the achievements of the BRS party. However, their efforts were overcome, and now each acre of land will be irrigated with Krishna waters through the PRRLI project.

The minister also mentioned how Telangana lost its self-respect and farmers were forced to commit suicide due to spineless leaders under United AP. But within just 9 years of BRS party’s rule after the formation of Telangana, CM KCR completed Kaleshwaram and is now working on the PRRLI project.

Furthermore, the minister criticized the BJP’s central government for not allocating Telangana’s share of Krishna waters, which caused delays in the project. The TS government has spent Rs 25,000 crore out of the total cost of Rs 30,000 crore so far. They are also working on completing the other phases of the project, which will irrigate 12 lakh acres in the region.
