BJP district president Elleni Sudhakar Rao is leading a 48-hour campaign to establish a mango market in Kollapur, Telangana. The constituency is known for its mango orchards and high crop yield. Thousands of farmers, who rely on mango plantations in the district, would benefit from a local market as it would reduce transport costs and ensure better prices for their produce.

Currently, local farmers are forced to travel to big cities like Hyderabad and Mumbai to sell their mangoes. However, they often struggle to get fair prices and end up with large debts, causing financial distress.

To address this issue, the BJP is organizing a protest with mango farmers in Kolhapur. The protest began with the garlanding of Dr B R Ambedkar’s statue. If the local MLA does not address their concerns and bring the issue to Chief Minister KCR’s attention, the farmers have threatened to block the CM’s convoy from entering Kollapur constituency on September 16. They also intend to prevent the CM from inaugurating the Palamuru Rangareddy project.
