Adilabad: A rally was organized by the Private Degree College Owners Association in the district. The rally was held to show support for the ongoing strike by private degree college owners, who are demanding the release of pending scholarship and fee reimbursement arrears.

On Wednesday, district leaders of the Private Degree Owners Association explained that degree colleges under Osmania University (OU) and Kakatiya University (KU) across the state have been shut down indefinitely. The college owners say they are unable to continue running the institutions without the release of these funds.

The association leaders pointed out that this indefinite closure is affecting the education of middle-class students. With exams approaching, many poor students are being forced to stay away from their studies. They urged the state government to act quickly, release the old arrears, and ensure that private degree colleges can resume functioning smoothly.
