In Miryalaguda, former MLA Nallamothu Bhaskar Rao led a protest rally on Saturday against the arrest of MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha by the ED. Supporters and activists from the BRS joined the rally to show their opposition to what they see as undemocratic actions by the Central government.
The protest started with a rally around the town and ended with a dharna in front of the municipal complex. Bhaskar Rao criticized the BJP-led Central government for targeting opposition leaders using agencies like the ED and CBI. He claimed that Kavitha’s arrest during the parliamentary elections was a deliberate move to disrupt Telangana’s political landscape.
Bhaskar Rao expressed confidence in Chief Minister KCR’s ability to resist pressure tactics. He demanded Kavitha’s immediate release and highlighted public discontent with the Congress party’s 100-day rule, accusing them of not fulfilling their election promises.
Members of the BRS also condemned Kavitha’s arrest as politically motivated and pledged to continue protesting until she is released. They urged authorities to uphold democratic values and respect the rights of opposition leaders.
The protest attracted party leaders, cadres, and supporters who all called for justice and criticized the alleged political motives behind Kavitha’s arrest.
