Protest by Bhadrachalam devotees leads government to halt transfer of temple EO

The transfer order of L Rama Devi, the Executive Officer of the Sree Seetha Ramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam, was recently stayed, much to the joy of the people in the region. The government decided to continue Devi’s services at the temple, and the Chief Minister and Congress government were thanked for this decision.

Initially, the Congress government had issued orders for Devi’s transfer to the ‘Kisara’ Revenue Divisional Officer, which sparked protests from the people and temple staff. Notable personalities and political leaders also appealed to authorities to stop the transfer. Minister Tummmala responded to the people’s concerns and promised to resolve the issue, leading to the government’s decision to keep Devi as the temple’s EO.

The news of the stay order went viral on social media, with many expressing happiness and praising the government’s decision. People lauded Devi’s commitment to her duties and cited her as an example of success. Social media comments highlighted how rare it is for people to protest for a government official like they did for Devi, showcasing their support for her.

Rama Devi has a history of working with noted IAS officers and implementing various policies at temples where she has served. During her time as the EO at the Lord Rama temple, she introduced several initiatives to improve services for devotees and increase temple income. Her efforts against land encroachers were also recognized during her tenure.
