Hyderabad: According to astrologer Bachampally Santosh Kumar Shastry, the new year (Vishwavasu Nama Ugadi) will bring good rains and healthy crops for the State. However, he warned that the early days of governance will be challenging. He advised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to be cautious and to worship Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy regularly, as he will be affected by “Naradosham” (a negative astrological phase).

Speaking during the Panchangam reading at the Ugadi celebrations held at Ravindra Bharati, Santosh Kumar Shastry said that the period from Ugadi to May 18 will be tough for the government. He mentioned that Suryanarayana (the Sun God) will rule this year, which means there will be increased competition in governance. He predicted that the Chief Ministers of the two Telugu-speaking states will compete in development efforts and try to implement people-friendly policies.

The almanac forecasted good rainfall and crop yield, but it also warned of challenges like insect infestations, fake seeds, and unseasonal rains that may damage crops. Shastry said this year will benefit hardworking people. He explained that “Vasu” means wealth, and those who put in effort will see good results. He also advised people to avoid eating non-vegetarian food on Sundays, saying it would bring positive effects for the State.

He predicted that the real estate sector will grow rapidly this year. He also said that the government will take strict steps to maintain law and order. However, there may be natural disturbances like earthquakes and cyclones, and minor issues with neighboring states. Shastry assured that the Chief Minister would be able to handle these problems and urged the Education and Health Ministers to work together for better outcomes. He added that the CM will make efforts to secure funds from the Central government.

Shastry encouraged the public to take part in the Saraswati Pushkaralu starting May 15, 2025. He said that joining this holy event will bring double the spiritual blessings compared to the Kumbh Mela. He noted that the Saraswati River flows only in Kaleshwaram, where people can worship at the Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy temple.

Lastly, the astrologer said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose zodiac sign is Vrishchika (Scorpio), might face some difficulties this year. He concluded that the year will be a mixed one for the PM.
