Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad Launches ‘Mana Gudi Mana Balam’ Initiative
The Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad (VHRP) has announced a new initiative called ‘Mana Gudi Mana Balam,’ which aims to make temples into power centers and unite Hindus. The organization plans to collect and maintain data of Hindus at their nearest local temples.
At a press conference, several speakers, including former bureaucrats and members of voluntary organizations, outlined the ambitious plans of the parishad to strengthen Sanatana Dharma. They emphasized the importance of temples in preserving cultural and spiritual traditions.
Spiritual scientist Bangariah Sharma explained that temples have historically been symbols of Sanatana Dharma. He mentioned that Hindu temples existed with advanced construction techniques 7,000 years before Christ. Sharma pointed out that while data about Muslims and Christians is maintained by mosques and churches, Hindus should also start recording their own data at temples. He encouraged every Hindu to register their information with temples and safeguard this data.
Sharma added that Hindu temples have faced challenges over time, including attacks by invaders and the impact of missionaries who introduced the Endowments department. He urged those interested in supporting the data-recording initiative to approach the VHRP.
RTI activist Lakshman Rao highlighted issues of corruption and mismanagement related to temple lands. He revealed that in Andhra Pradesh, 2.1 lakh acres out of five lakh acres of temple lands have been encroached upon. Similarly, in Telangana, over one lakh acres of temple lands have been illegally occupied from a total of 2.2 lakh acres.
Another speaker, Cheruvu Rambabu, criticized the British colonial administration for conspiring to dismantle the temple system. He claimed that during 1875, India had a literacy rate of 97 percent, which was disrupted by the destruction of the Gurukul education system.
N Yamuna Pathak stressed the need for temples to evolve into centers that address social issues. She shared that the initiative has already started in Old City areas and has yielded promising results. According to Pathak, the organization plans to strengthen 6,470 temples across Telangana. She concluded by saying that temples will act as unifying power centers, promoting the message of unity among Hindus.
