Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) President M. Kodandaram expressed his views on the Telangana movement during a press conference at the party office in Hyderabad. He mentioned that although the movement had calmed down, there were people waiting for the right opportunity to counter-attack, which caught everyone by surprise.

Kodandaram praised the voters for their awareness and congratulated them on their participation in the elections. He believed that the defeat of the BRS and the Congress moving towards victory had brought happiness to the people who fought for Telangana’s achievement.

The professor stated that the public had given a strong answer to the government’s autocratic rule and arbitrary exercise of power without restrictions, which he described as ‘looting’. He emphasized that the anger against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s government was not minor, especially among the unemployed youth who had become a democratic force.

Kodandaram drew a parallel between the current situation and the emergency during Indira Gandhi’s reign. While the opposition has not yet united against KCR’s autocratic rule, the public has shown its strength through a united counter-attack. He highlighted the emergence of unemployed youth as a powerful force and stated that their impact could even be felt in national politics and upcoming Lok Sabha elections if the issue of unemployment is not addressed seriously.

According to Kodandaram, the public’s response during the elections served as a fitting reply to KCR’s policies. He believed that the strong results demonstrated the deep-rooted democracy in India.
