Private schools in Hyderabad affiliated with the Telangana State syllabus are once again disregarding the rules set by the Education Department. Despite the rescheduling of the Telangana State syllabus Summative Assessment (SA)-II exam for classes 1 to 9 by SCERT from April 8 to 15, some private schools in the city have decided to conduct the final exam before the scheduled date.

These schools have chosen to use internally generated question papers instead of the government-issued ones for classes 6 to 8. Despite the Education Department’s decision to postpone the exams, schools have already issued hall tickets and plan to continue with their previously scheduled exams starting from April 8, with some schools starting on April 10.

In previous years, many private schools have conducted class 9 exams before the Education Department released the exam timetable. Parents are concerned about the lack of a regulatory committee to oversee school activities, allowing private schools to consistently violate norms.

Parents of students at these private schools have expressed frustration with the situation. They feel that private schools are prioritizing their own rules over the well-being of students, forcing them to attend school and write exams even in extreme heat conditions.

While regulations require question papers for classes 6 to 9 to be issued by the District Education Office, some private schools are conducting exams with their own questions. The lack of regular inspections and enforcement of regulations by the Telangana Education Department has allowed private schools to continue flouting rules.

Despite recent notices from the Education Department about revising the exam timetable due to rising temperatures and conflicting dates with cultural celebrations, private schools in Hyderabad are still proceeding with their own schedules.
