Hyderabad: M. Dana Kishore, the Principal Secretary of the State Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, has instructed water board officials to maintain high-quality standards in the supply of drinking water within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.

Following recent heavy rains, a review meeting was held with the officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) to discuss the current situation regarding drinking water supply.

During the meeting, Dana Kishore emphasized that senior officials and other staff members of the water board need to visit different areas to address issues related to sanitation and drinking water. He highlighted the increased risk of water contamination due to the rains, stressing the importance of close attention to the entire water supply process, including water collection, storage, purification, chlorination, pumping, transmission, and distribution.
