President Droupadi Murmu will be visiting Hyderabad from December 18 to December 23 for a five-day trip. She will be staying at the official presidential retreat, Rashtrapati Nilayam, in Bolarum, Secunderabad. The Chief Secretary, Santhi Kumari, held a meeting with various officials to review the arrangements for the visit. The Police department was instructed to ensure security and traffic arrangements, while other departments were directed to make necessary arrangements as per the blue book. This will be Murmu’s second visit to Hyderabad since taking office last year. Rashtrapati Nilayam, built in 1860, became the President’s retreat after Hyderabad state’s accession to India in 1948. Spread over 90 acres, it features a beautiful garden and various amenities. The building has 20 rooms, including a dining hall and a movie theatre. The retreat will be closed to the public in December due to the President’s visit.
