President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Hyderabad on Monday for her annual visit to the southern region. She was received by Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Seethakka and D Sridhar Babu, and senior officials at the Begumpet airport.
During her five-day stay, the President will be at the Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum, Secunderabad. On Tuesday, she will attend the centenary celebrations of the Hyderabad Public School Society.
On December 20, she will visit the handloom and spinning unit as well as the theme pavilion of the Ministry of Textiles at Pochampally in Telangana. She will also have an interaction with weavers. On the same day, she will participate in the golden jubilee celebrations of MNR Educational Trust in Secunderabad.
On December 21, the President will inaugurate various projects at Rashtrapati Nilayam. Additionally, on December 22, she will host an ‘At Home’ reception for dignitaries, leading citizens of the state, and academics at the Rashtrapati Nilayam.
Due to the President’s visit, there are traffic restrictions in some parts of the city. The Rashtrapati Nilayam is a historic building constructed in 1860 and covers a land area of 90 acres. It consists of 11 rooms, a dining hall, cinema hall, Darbar Hall, and dining room among other facilities. The President visits Rashtrapati Nilayam once a year to conduct official business.
