President Droupadi Murmu received a warm welcome in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, as she completed a year in office. Governor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik greeted her at the airport as she began her three-day visit to her home state.
After arriving, President Murmu was taken to Raj Bhawan under tight security, where she will spend the night. On her way to Raj Bhawan, she broke protocol and stopped her vehicle to shake hands with children who were excited to see her.
On Wednesday, the President will travel to Cuttack, where she will visit the Chandi Temple to offer prayers. She will also visit the residence of ‘Utkal Gourav’ Madhusudan Das and pay tribute to his statue. Additionally, she will visit the birthplace of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the Netaji Museum.
