Telangana Prepares for CM's Cup 2024 Sports Festival
The Telangana Sports Authority is gearing up to host the prestigious CM’s Cup 2024, scheduled to take place from December 7, 2023, to January 2, 2024. Extensive arrangements are being made to ensure the event is a grand success.
As directed by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the initiative aims to position Telangana as the top sports state in India. Athletes interested in participating are encouraged to register at http://cmcup2024.telangana.gov.in before December 7. This sports festival will not only celebrate athletic talent but also provide a platform to evaluate and encourage athletes across all levels.
One of the unique aspects of CM’s Cup 2024 is its emphasis on inclusivity and grassroots development. For the first time, a gram panchayat-level sports fest will be conducted, aiming to take sports “from villages to the world stage.” Additionally, para games have been introduced to promote equality and inclusivity. The competition will feature three categories—sub-junior, junior, and senior—ensuring recognition of talent at every stage.
The event will showcase 36 sports disciplines, blending Olympic events with traditional sports to highlight the region’s rich heritage. To enhance the experience, cutting-edge technology will play a pivotal role. Online registrations, live match videos, and real-time updates will be enabled through the Games Management System (GMS) at the state level.
Efforts are being made to maintain fairness and transparency throughout the competition. The event will adopt a holistic approach by providing robust feedback mechanisms to nurture talent and sustain the momentum created by the CM’s Cup. Post-game analysis and detailed research reports will also be conducted to help plan future sports development initiatives.
