Gadwal: Bathukamma Festival Preparations
On Wednesday, District Additional Collector (Revenue) Lakshmi Narayana instructed all officials to work together to organize the Bathukamma festival in a grand manner. The festival will be celebrated in Gadwal on Thursday. Many district officials, public representatives, and well-known personalities are expected to join the event.
Women officials will lead a procession carrying the Bathukamma flowers from the collector’s office to Terumaidan. This will take place with traditional songs and dances. Municipal officials were told to make sure the event site is clean. They must also provide important facilities like good lighting, drinking water, and a sound system. Preparations are also being made at the Lingambai immersion point.
Horticulture officials were asked to arrange flowers for the festival. Prizes will be given for the most beautifully prepared and displayed Bathukamma.
The DPRO was instructed to organize cultural programs featuring folk songs and Dhol performances by local artists. Since Bathukamma is a festival mainly for women, female staff from different departments, as well as ASHA and Anganwadi workers, are encouraged to participate.
The Additional Collector invited everyone in the district to join the celebrations and help make the festival a big success.
