Telugu Talons is a handball team representing Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. They are participating in the inaugural season of the Premier Handball League (PHL). During the launch event at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad, the team unveiled their new jersey and announced their captain and sponsors.
Jayesh Ranjan, Telangana’s Principal Secretary of Industry, Commerce, and Information Technology, and Prof K. Narasimha Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of JNTUH, unveiled the new jersey and announced Shubham Sheoran as the team’s captain.
Abhishek Reddy, the team owner, announced that A23 is the principal sponsor, while Paradise, JNTU, Oxyloans, Malla Reddy University, and Prakash Projects are associate sponsors for the team.
Coach Fernando Nues said that Shubham Sheoran was chosen as captain because of his experience in the sport and his ability to communicate well with the team.
After the launch event, a special exhibition match was organized to showcase the team’s talent and teamwork.
Telugu Talons will play 10 matches at the Premier Handball League, with their first match on June 8th against Garvit Gujarat. The tournament will be broadcast on Viacom18 on JioCinema, Sports 18-1 (HD & SD), and Sports 18 Khel.
