HMDA recently held a pre-bid meeting for the auction of Neopolis Phase-II Plots in Hyderabad. The Government of Telangana, through HMDA, offered 7 plots for auction on August 3, 2023. The auction took place in two sessions, with four plots being auctioned from 11.00 AM to 2.00 PM and three plots from 3.00 PM to 6.00 PM. The purpose of the meeting was to provide potential bidders with information about the plots and the auction procedures.

Over 100 firms, including real estate developers and builders, participated in the meeting either in person or online. The e-auction was conducted by MSTC Limited, a central public sector undertaking with the Government of India.

The Neopolis opportunity attracted interest from various Indian markets, including individuals, NRIs, institutional investors, and corporates. The location’s proximity to key infrastructures such as the Hitec City-Knowledge City and Financial District, as well as the Outer Ring Road and future Metro, make it an attractive investment for Multi-Use Zone development.

Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary and Metropolitan Commissioner of HMDA, addressed queries during the meeting and encouraged investors to explore the opportunity. The success of Neopolis Phase 1 and HMDA’s proposed investment in infrastructure development have increased investor confidence.

Participants in the pre-bid meeting raised questions about the e-auction registration process, bidding method, system transparency, refund clarity, and the possibility of combining multiple parcels for projects.

The meeting consisted of presentations on the potential of Kokapet as a location, clarifications on planning and infrastructure by HMDA, and an explanation of the e-bidding process by MSTC. Despite challenging weather conditions, the in-person session had a high attendance rate, while the online session saw active participation from promoters and decision-makers outside the region.
