    A group of healthcare experts in Hyderabad have come together to establish the PRASHO (Pragyaan Sustainable Health Outcomes) Foundation. This not-for-profit organization is committed to promoting evidence-based practices in public healthcare. The foundation will officially launch on Friday.

    The foundation aims to improve health outcomes at both the population and health facility levels. It has set up its operational hub at the World Trade Center (WTC) Shamshabad premises in Kapil Kavuri Hub, Financial District. In partnership with The Hans India, the foundation has also established a Health Media Centre to spread healthcare-related messages and encourage behavioral change in the community.

    The founders of PRASHO include Prof GVS Murthy as president, Govind Hari as Chairman, Dr Ranga Reddy Burri as Vice Chairman, Gowri Govindhari as CFO, Dr Vishal Govindhari as Director Medical, Dr Anirudh Gudlavalleti as Director Public Health, and V Krishna Reddy Burri as Director of Community Engagement. PRASHO President Prof GVS Murthy explained that the foundation will collaborate with The Hans India to provide comprehensive healthcare information to the media, promote community engagement, conduct India-specific research, organize healthcare sessions and talks, provide data analytics, and enhance the skills of healthcare professionals.

    The launch event will be attended by over 80 representatives from the healthcare system, including policy advisors, clinicians, hospital promoters, researchers, pharmaceutical and Bio Science sector leaders, and international organizations like UNICEF.

    Currently, the foundation has 15 employees working on research and programs, overseen by five mentors. By March 2024, PRASHO plans to expand its team to 35 employees and increase its focus on research, programs, and field work. The founders have invested Rs 5 crore in the organization for operations and infrastructure. They aim to become self-sustainable within the next three years.
