Hyderabad: A special event will be held on Friday to celebrate the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism. The event, called Vishaal Deewan (a mass gathering), will take place at the Exhibition Grounds in Nampally from 11 am to 4 pm.
This gathering is being organized by the Prabhandak Committees of two gurudwaras — Gurudwara Saheb in Secunderabad and Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj. The event is an important part of the celebrations for Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary.
At the event, Gurbani Keertans (holy hymns) will be sung by well-known Ragi Jathas (religious singers), who are coming from different parts of the country. These hymns are a way to honor the teachings of Guru Nanak.
Some of the main participants include Lakhwinder Singh from Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple, Amritsar), Amarjeet Singh from Patiala, and other Hazuri Ragi Jathas. They will recite hymns and also talk about the values Guru Nanak promoted, such as peace, equality, and humanity.
After the event, a free meal known as Guru Ka Langar will be provided to all attendees. In addition, there will be medical camps set up at the venue to help those in need.
