    Siddipet: Libraries to Help Unemployed and Students Prepare for Exams

    Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced that libraries would be important spaces for unemployed individuals and students to prepare for competitive exams. He made this statement while attending the 57th District Library Week celebrations at the Central Library in Siddipet on Friday.

    As part of the celebrations, the Minister inaugurated a book exhibition at the library. Later, he visited a grain procurement center in Duddeda village, Kondapak Mandal, and took part in a comprehensive household survey in the area.

    Speaking during the event, the Minister pointed out that Library Week and Cooperation Week would be celebrated on Jawaharlal Nehru’s birth anniversary. He stressed the importance of libraries in providing knowledge and how books help raise awareness in society. He acknowledged some issues with the Siddipet library and promised to work on improving facilities for unemployed youth and ensuring easy access to books for children.

    The Minister also praised the active participation of people in the ongoing household survey, stating that it would help in future planning for Telangana. He warned against any negative propaganda related to the survey and urged BC, SC, and ST associations to raise awareness and encourage their communities to participate.

    Regarding the recruitment process for Group-1 posts, Prabhakar mentioned that it was in its final stages. He highlighted that, despite challenges, 45,000 job appointment letters had been issued in the past 11 months.

    Additionally, the Minister announced that the government had appointed Riyaz, a movement leader, as the State-level chairman of libraries. He also mentioned that ‘Encyclopedia’ Lingamurthy had been selected as the chairman of the Siddipet district Grandhalaya Samstha.
