Hyderabad: Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar accused former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao of politicizing the drought conditions in Telangana. He criticized KCR for visiting withered crops instead of providing constructive suggestions to the State government.

The Minister explained that the crops dried up due to minimal rainfall during the rainy season and it was unfair for KCR to blame the Congress government. He emphasized that the drought conditions occurred when the BRS government was in power, not during the Congress government’s tenure.

Ponnam stated that the government is willing to discuss project-wise water availability once KCR steps down from power. He also criticized the BJP government at the Centre for allegedly discriminating against Telangana and urged KCR to fight against the Centre for Telangana’s rights.

Furthermore, Ponnam challenged BJP MP Bandi Sanjay for undertaking a protest in Karimnagar in support of farmers. He dared Sanjay to hold the protest at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence and pressure Modi to address farmers’ rights.
