Senior leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for organizing a protest rally outside Raj Bhavan. He described the event as a “political gimmick” aimed at distracting the public from the government’s alleged failures.
Speaking to the media, Sudhakar Reddy accused the Chief Minister of ignoring security protocols and legal rules during the rally. He questioned the inconsistency in enforcing regulations, saying, “Hundreds of people were allowed to gather at Gandhi Bhavan without following the law. But when others want to hold a protest, they must go through countless procedures. Why were the rules ignored this time?”
Accusations of Partiality
The senior leader also criticized the police for their inaction during the event. He alleged that the law enforcement officials acted like “spectators” and allowed the rally to proceed despite violations. “The rally broke all security norms, yet the police stood by and did nothing. Such favoritism is unacceptable,” he said.
Sudhakar Reddy further claimed that the Chief Minister’s actions were politically motivated. According to him, the rally was a strategy to shift attention away from governance failures. He added, “This is nothing but a political drama. Instead of solving real issues, the Chief Minister is busy misleading the public with such theatrics.”
Opposition Demands Fair Treatment
Opposition leaders have echoed Sudhakar Reddy’s criticism, arguing that the rally was more about gaining political mileage than addressing public concerns. They have demanded equal treatment under the law and accountability for the alleged violations during the event.
As political tensions rise in Telangana, the controversy surrounding the rally’s purpose and execution is expected to remain a hot topic in the coming days.
