Rangareddy: The Kadthal mandal in Rangareddy district has finally received its own tahsildar office, following numerous requests and a generous donation of land by a local resident. The new office was officially opened on Monday by Minister for Housing and Revenue, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
Upon his arrival, Minister Reddy was warmly welcomed by Kalvakurti MLA, Kasireddy Narayan Reddy, and Ranga Reddy District Collector, K. Shashank.
During the inauguration, the minister honored Suleiman, also known locally as JaniBhai, with a shawl to recognize his generosity in donating land for the office. Officials shared that the tahsildar office was built at a cost of Rs 1.24 crore.
Later, financial aid cheques of Rs 1.16 lakh each were distributed to 77 beneficiaries under the ‘Kalyana Lakshmi’ and ‘Shadi Mubarak’ schemes. Additionally, life-saving kits were handed out to toddy tappers to ensure their safety while collecting toddy in the area.
In the event, the MLA also requested the minister to approve a junior college and a 30-bed hospital for the mandal, citing the growing population of students and residents. Minister Reddy assured that he would take the necessary steps to meet these demands.
District Collector Shashank highlighted that out of 3,200 Dharani applications received from the mandal, 2,700 have already been resolved, with only 500 still pending. He emphasized the authorities’ commitment to addressing the needs of local tribal families.
The event concluded with a plantation drive, in which the minister, MLA, and district collector all took part.
