Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced on Tuesday that the government would distribute double-bedroom houses to beneficiaries before the Dasara festival.
He held a video conference with district collectors to discuss various issues, including double-bedroom houses, digital health profile cards, flood relief, and other important topics.
The minister mentioned that although the BRS government had earlier announced the construction of double-bedroom houses, only a few have been completed so far. He instructed the collectors to finalize the beneficiaries for the completed houses and hand them over before Dasara. A committee will be formed to oversee this process, with the district’s in-charge minister as the chairman and the district collector as the convener.
Regarding the health profile cards, Reddy explained that the goal is to create a health profile for each family and issue them a smart card with a unique number. This initiative will cover all families, regardless of whether they are poor, middle-class, or wealthy.
He emphasized that the family digital cards are meant to benefit the common people as much as possible, without causing any inconvenience. He advised officials to ensure that the details of all family members are entered accurately without any mistakes.
Reddy further shared that a pilot project for the Telangana Family Digital Cards will be launched in 238 areas across 119 constituencies. He suggested that officials select both one urban and one rural area in each constituency, or two wards/divisions in urban-only constituencies.
From October 3 to 7, officials will collect family details by going door-to-door in selected areas. Special officers, such as RDO-level and zonal commissioner-level officers, will be appointed to oversee this process in each constituency, while a tahsildar will be responsible for each mandal. It is important to take care when registering and updating family member details.
The Chief Minister will officially launch the pilot project on October 3. After assessing its effectiveness, the government will consider expanding the project across the entire State.
