Shadnagar: The police stopped a protest called ‘Chalo Assembly’ planned by former sarpanches on Monday. The former village leaders had organized the protest to demand payment of their pending dues. To prevent the protest, police arrested former sarpanches from several villages in Farooqnagar mandal and took them to the police station.

The former sarpanches expressed their frustration, questioning how the Congress government could ignore their repeated requests for payment of village panchayat bills that have been pending for a year. They accused the government of negligence, pointing out that they had taken loans to carry out development work in their villages.

They urged the government to understand their struggles, as many are unable to pay interest on the loans taken for these development projects. The former sarpanches demanded immediate action to clear the pending bills.
