On Sunday evening in Nagarkurnool district, nine people became stranded in a stream but were rescued by the police. The family, from Hyderabad, had visited the Maisamma temple in Peddakothapally Mandal and was returning home. They were using Google Maps for directions when they accidentally drove into the Dundubhi stream near Sirisawada in Thadoor Mandal.
As night fell, their car got stuck in the stream, leaving them with no choice but to call the emergency number, 100, for help.
Thadoor Sub-Inspector Mahesh responded to their call and immediately rushed to the scene. After assessing the situation, he informed higher authorities and started planning the rescue. With the help of some local residents, the police used two tractors to enter the stream.
The stream’s strong current made the rescue difficult. The police had to wait for the right moment to safely reach the stranded group.
After a brave effort, all nine people were rescued from the car. Circle Inspector Kanakayya closely monitored the entire operation. The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the police for saving them.
Sub-Inspector Mahesh’s quick thinking and bravery have been widely praised by his superiors and the local community.
