The Telangana state police have requested the custody of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in connection with the leak of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam papers. The leader, identified as Raghunandan Rao, was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh police on 13th May 2021, and was subsequently released on bail. However, after the Telangana police found evidence that Rao was involved in the paper leak, they have requested his custody for further interrogation.

The SSC exam paper leak case has been making headlines in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the past few weeks. The papers were leaked on social media platforms just a few hours before the exams were scheduled to begin. The Telangana government had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case, and they have been working tirelessly to identify the culprits. Several people, including students, teachers, and private school owners, have been arrested in connection with the case.

Raghunandan Rao’s arrest has come as a shock to the BJP, which has been protesting against the Telangana government’s handling of the case. The party has accused the government of targeting its leaders and supporters. However, the Telangana police have maintained that they have solid evidence against Rao, and that he was one of the key players in the paper leak. The case has also sparked a political row between the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the BJP, with both parties trading accusations and counter-accusations.
