    Phiringia police station Inspector in-Charge Tapan Kumar Nahak has been transferred and two home guards have been suspended following a mob attack on the police station. The mob accused the police officers of being involved in illegal ganja trade.

    The IIC has been transferred to the District Police Headquarters, while the home guards, Prashant Patra and Rabi Digal, have been suspended. The incident resulted in the ransacking and setting fire of the police station, as well as the assault of some police officers.

    The police have registered cases against more than 30 individuals involved in the arson incident. Among them, 15 have been identified and are currently being questioned by the authorities. The local residents have claimed that the IIC and his staff were participating in the illegal ganja trade.
