A tragic road accident took place this morning near Hayat Nagar, a suburb of Hyderabad. A senior police officer lost his life after being hit by a speeding bus while crossing the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway for his morning walk.
The victim has been identified as an Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate. The accident happened around 7:00 AM near Laxma Reddy Palem. The officer, who lived in Mythri Cottage, was crossing the road when the bus struck him.
Eyewitnesses and initial police reports indicate that the impact caused severe injuries, leading to the officer’s death on the spot.
The police arrived quickly at the scene, examined the body, and then transferred it to a government hospital for a postmortem. Following the incident, the Hayathnagar police have registered a case and started an investigation to understand the circumstances of the accident.
