Hyderabad: Police in Hyderabad have broken up an illegal online cricket betting operation. The Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team, along with Chikkadapally police, arrested three people involved in the racket. They were caught for playing and helping others play online cricket betting, which is not allowed.
The police took Rs 2,48,200 in cash and seized several mobile phones from the suspects. The arrested men include Mohd Firasath Ali, a sub-bookie from SRT Colony, Rein Bazar, and two punters, Nitin Kumar from Moosarambagh and Vikas Agarwal from Domalguda.
According to the police, the accused were getting online betting user IDs from a main bookie named Pavan, who is based in Jaipur, Rajasthan. They used websites like Peachexch, Radheexchange.com, and Silvarbay.com to place bets during the IPL 2025 matches.
Acting on a tip-off, the Task Force caught the suspects near Sundaraiah Park. The arrested men and the seized items have been handed over to Chikkadapally police for further investigation.
