Police Struggle to Find Suspect in MMTS Train Assault Case

Hyderabad: The search for the suspect involved in the attempted sexual assault of a young woman on an MMTS train is becoming difficult. Despite 13 special police teams working on the case, they have not been able to find the attacker. Several suspects have been detained, but the victim has not been able to identify any of them.

One of the main challenges for the police is the lack of CCTV footage at Secunderabad railway station, where construction work is taking place. To find clues, the police have checked footage from over 200 cameras across an 11-station, 28-kilometre route from Secunderabad to Gundlapochampally. However, they have not yet found a strong lead.

The suspect is believed to be a drug addict who has been separated from his family. Investigators say he entered the women’s coach at Alwal railway station after two female passengers got off. Although the police detained a known offender, the victim could not confirm if he was the attacker, making the case more complicated.

Now, police teams are searching areas around 14 railway stations and speaking to locals in hopes of finding useful information. It is not yet clear if advanced forensic methods are being used. Officials are asking the public to come forward with any details that might help in identifying and arresting the suspect.
