Hyderabad police have arrested a man for drug possession. The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and Tappachabutra police caught an interstate drug peddler with 3.5 kg of ganja. The seized drugs are worth around ₹1 lakh.
The arrested man has been identified as Pallapati Narendra, also known as Nani, a 21-year-old farmer from Bapatla district in Andhra Pradesh. However, the main supplier, Ram Singh from Visakhapatnam, is still on the run.
According to the police, Narendra met Ram Singh a month ago and started selling ganja to make money. He planned to sell the drugs in Hyderabad to overcome his financial problems. In December 2024, he visited his sister’s house in Hyderabad and met a person named Chotu Singh, from whom he asked for ganja.
On February 10, 2025, Narendra bought 5 kg of ganja from Ram for ₹1 lakh. He then traveled to Hyderabad on February 12 and sold 1.5 kg of the drug to his customers—Chotu Singh, Chinna Bhai, and Chinna. The remaining 3.5 kg was still in his possession when the police caught him.
Police arrested Narendra in Tappachabutra on Tuesday along with the remaining ganja. The case is under investigation, and authorities are searching for Ram Singh.
