Fake Revenue Official Arrested in Hyderabad for Duping People
The State Intelligence Police in Hyderabad have apprehended a man posing as a revenue official. This fake official was reportedly taking money from unsuspecting individuals, promising to clear their files and complete other administrative tasks in the Secretariat’s section offices.
A startling incident occurred two days ago when the imposter caused a disturbance during a press conference addressed by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat’s media room. The man, identified as Bhaskar Rao from Khammam district, was subsequently arrested.
According to the police, Bhaskar obtained a fake employee ID card identifying him as a Junior Assistant in the Revenue Department. Investigations revealed that he acquired the forged card with the help of Ravi, a driver for V Prashant, who works as a Section Officer in the Minority Department.
Acting on a tip-off from Secretariat employees, a team of Intelligence Police, led by ASI Yusuf and Head Constable Anjaneyulu, tracked down Bhaskar on the Secretariat premises. They seized a fake ID card and a mobile phone from him before handing him over to the Saifabad Police Station for further investigation.
Despite heightened security measures at the Secretariat, which allow entry only to individuals with valid passes, the incident has exposed a loophole. Authorities have discovered that some individuals are using fake identity cards to gain access to the Secretariat. Additionally, some of these imposters have been creating disturbances in section offices.
