Rythu Bandhu Scheme Benefits 1.5 Lakh Farmers in Telangana
Telangana, July 6: In a unique initiative that has not been seen anywhere else in the country, the state government has distributed podu lands to over 4.60 lakh acres of farmers in the past decade. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, popularly known as KCR, has been instrumental in the success of the Rythu Bandhu scheme, which provides financial assistance of up to 100% subsidy for bore motors. Agriculture Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar has played a crucial role in implementing the scheme, and on Thursday, he distributed podu lands to farmers in the Raghunathpalem village of Khammam district.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Kumar revealed that a total of 673 tribal farmers in the Mandal have been provided with podu lands. He also highlighted how the previous governments failed to address the issues faced by podu farmers, and credited CM KCR’s vision for successfully implementing the scheme and resolving the problems faced by farmers in the past decade. In addition to providing podu lands, the government has also introduced various other schemes such as Rythu Bandhu Plus, Rythu Bheema, and 18 different types of welfare programs for farmers. All these initiatives were explained by Minister Indra Karan Reddy during his visit to Sandaranga village in Nirmal district, where he distributed podu lands to farmers.
Chief Minister KCR has introduced several welfare programs in the state that have made Telangana a role model for other states in the country. He has also showcased his dancing skills by performing the minister’s dance with women in Mahbubnagar district. In Nallabelli Mandal of Warangal district, 300 farmers from Chakkala Palli, Govindapuram, and Kondapuram villages were provided with podu lands by MLA Sudarshan Reddy. He assured the farmers that soon they will be able to cultivate crops in their lands and achieve agricultural prosperity.
The success of the podu lands distribution has been attributed to the Kaleshwaram project, which will provide water for irrigation purposes in the near future. This will enable farmers to cultivate crops and achieve self-sufficiency in agriculture. The government is committed to the welfare of farmers and will continue to support them through various schemes and initiatives. With the distribution of podu lands, the state aims to enhance agricultural productivity and improve the lives of farmers in Telangana.
