The BJP chose Madhavi Latha, a businesswoman and philanthropist, as their candidate for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency. Despite being a professional Bharatanatyam dancer, she has not been actively involved in politics until now. Her nomination by the BJP is aimed at challenging Asaduddin Owaisi, the president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, in his stronghold.

Madhavi Latha is known for her speeches supporting Hindutva and campaigning against triple talaq. She is also involved in various charitable organizations and runs a ‘gaushala’ to care for cows. The AIMIM has maintained its winning streak in Hyderabad since 1984.
