Former MLA Demands Funds for Nalgonda Project Completion

Former Nakrekal MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah has issued a strong warning to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He urged the Chief Minister to allocate Rs 500 crores for the full completion of the Brahmana Vellemla Udaya Samudram Project. This includes funds for land acquisition and compensation. Lingaiah stated that if the project remains incomplete, they will oppose any attempt by the Chief Minister to inaugurate it. He made these remarks during a press meeting in Chityala on Thursday.

Lingaiah criticized the government for neglecting key projects in Nalgonda district. He pointed out that initiatives like the Yadadri-Damaracherla Power Project, the Nalgonda Medical College, and the Udaya Samudram Project were started by former Chief Minister KCR. However, he claimed that not a single rupee has been sanctioned by CM Revanth Reddy to continue or complete these projects. He called out the Chief Minister for failing to allocate any funds for the district’s development over the past year, labeling the upcoming visit as ironic.

The former MLA highlighted that during his tenure, he had already overseen the trial run of the Brahmana Vellemla Udaya Samudram Project. Despite this progress, he noted that Rs 300 crores in compensation for displaced families is still pending. Additionally, Rs 200 crores are needed to complete canal works associated with the project. Lingaiah emphasized that these issues must be addressed before any inauguration takes place.
