The state government in Hyderabad plans to address criticism from opposition parties by proposing resolutions on pending issues related to the bifurcation of the state. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is expected to discuss recent talks with Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, including the claim to five villages in Bhadrachalam.
During the upcoming Assembly session, the CM may share details about discussions on asset division and unpaid power dues. The government intends to start a debate on lingering bifurcation issues to demonstrate its commitment to protecting state interests.
It has been reported that official and ministerial level committees will be formed to address these matters after the budget session concludes. The state government aims to reassure the public that it will not compromise on state interests, particularly regarding the transfer of five villages back to Telangana.
Additionally, the government plans to highlight the previous administration’s shortcomings in addressing asset division and power dues owed by Andhra Pradesh, amounting to approximately Rs 24,000 crore. The CM also wants to address obstacles faced by Telangana in resolving interstate water disputes related to Krishna and Godavari rivers as per the AP Reorganisation Act.
