Former MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy has been sent to jail for 14 days by the Macherla Junior Civil Court in Narsaraopet. This was due to assault cases involving a TDP agent and a police officer. He was, however, granted bail for other charges related to damaging an EVM and assaulting a woman on election day.

The judge has ordered that Pinnelli be transferred to Nellore jail. During his arrest, Pinnelli reportedly punched a TDP activist in the stomach while being taken into custody by the police. The legal arguments between both sides lasted from 11 pm to 3 am before the judge made a decision.

The incident occurred when Pinnelli was being taken to the Palnadu district court.
