    Pega and Teach for Change Celebrate Talented Government School Students

    Hyderabad: Pega Systems Inc., a global provider of low-code platforms, joined hands with Teach for Change, a non-profit organization, to organize a state-level competition for government school students. The event, called “Pega Teach for Change,” showcased the talents of around 56,780 students from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. This initiative aimed to celebrate the creativity and literacy skills of students from underserved communities.

    The competition culminated in a grand finale held at the Pega Systems Hyderabad office. Out of the thousands of participants, 200 finalists were selected to present their talents. The event highlighted their creativity, English language skills, and dedication to learning. As a reward for their hard work, outstanding performers were gifted laptops and tablets. These prizes were presented by Deepak Visweswaraiah, Vice President of Platform Engineering and Managing Director (India), along with the Pega leadership team.

    The festival included various activities such as singing, dancing, storytelling, and public speaking. It also showcased the students’ improved English skills, developed through Teach for Change’s initiatives. Additionally, parents were encouraged to participate through special interactive sessions, emphasizing the importance of supporting their children’s education both at home and in school.

    Lakshmi Manchu, Founder and Managing Trustee of Teach for Change, expressed her joy at seeing the students’ confidence and talents. She also praised the active involvement of parents, which reinforced the value of learning beyond the classroom. Deepak Visweswaraiah noted that Pega’s collaboration with Teach for Change has introduced significant improvements in the education system, such as smart classrooms and voluntary literacy programs. He emphasized the company’s commitment to social responsibility and community betterment.

    Pega Teach for Change remains dedicated to enhancing education and literacy for children in government schools across India. By working with local educators, volunteers, and partners, it aims to create sustainable programs that focus on English literacy as a foundation for future success. Events like these talent showcases are part of the organization’s mission to empower students and help them build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
