The by-election for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda constituency ended peacefully on Monday at 4 pm. The total percentage of votes cast by that time was about 69%, with final numbers still to be announced. Voters who were in line by 4 pm were allowed to vote.
A total of 463,839 graduate voters from the constituency, spread across 34 assembly constituencies, cast their votes in 605 polling booths. There were 53 candidates running, with the main competition between Congress, BJP, and BRS parties.
All ballot boxes are being moved to secure rooms with tight security measures in place. Vote counting will occur on June 5, with three tiers of security at the counting centers.
