In Vijayawada, Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan is facing a challenge in deciding who will get tickets for the upcoming elections in Anakapalle. His brother, Konidela Nagababu, is interested in running for the Anakapalle Parliamentary seat. However, former Minister and two-time Congress MP Konathala Ramakrishna also wants to contest from the same seat after joining JSP on January 25, 2024.

Nagababu, who previously ran for the Narasapuram Parliamentary seat in 2019 and lost to YSRCP Rebel MP Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, is now considering the Anakapalle seat. Raju is expected to run again, either with TDP or BJP. Nagababu sees an opportunity in Anakapalle, as it has a significant number of voters from the Kapu community.

Meanwhile, Ramakrishna is also vying for the Anakapalle seat. YS Sharmila, the new leader of the Congress party, met with Ramakrishna recently. There were rumors that he might join her party, but Ramakrishna clarified that the meeting was personal and that he only attended to receive an invitation for his son’s wedding. He later put an end to the rumors by officially joining Jana Sena.
