Passengers narrowly escape as bus teeters on bridge over Mahanadi

Around 40 passengers of a private bus had a lucky escape after the bus they were travelling in skidded off a bridge over Mahanadi river in Banki, Cuttack district. The bus was on its way from Angul to Bhubaneswar when the accident happened. Fortunately, all the passengers managed to safely get off the bus, although around 10 of them sustained minor injuries.

The exact cause of the accident is still unknown, but it is suspected to be due to a technical issue. Some passengers claimed that the bus was speeding, causing it to veer off the bridge. Thankfully, the bus was later recovered with the help of a crane. The situation could have been much worse if the bus had fallen into the river, especially considering that it is currently full.
