Gadwal: Concerns Over Private Schools in Jogulamba Gadwal District
In Jogulamba Gadwal District, parents and students are increasingly unhappy with the condition of private schools. Despite many complaints, the district education department seems indifferent, allowing school owners to operate without consequences.
Parents are worried about the poor conditions in these schools. Many schools have over 1000 students but only two toilets. Reports have surfaced that children are being made to do menial work instead of focusing on their studies, angering the community further.
In Aija, just a week after newspapers highlighted the poor facilities at a private school, no real improvements have been made. Parents are questioning if the notices from authorities are effective, as they seem to have no impact.
“Are the authorities lazy, or are the school owners simply arrogant?” asked a frustrated parent. The minimal action by the district education department, where one MEO oversees four mandals, has only made private school owners more confident.
The problem is made worse by private schools forming unions, which seem to prioritize the interests of school management over those of students and parents. “The union should support the right to education for our children, not undermine it in favor of school management,” said another concerned parent.
Parents are calling for the district education department to enforce stricter measures against schools that don’t meet standards. They want officials to take serious steps to ensure private schools provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
As the community waits for a response, the future of the district’s children is uncertain. Authorities need to act quickly and decisively to restore confidence in the education system and protect students’ rights.
